My latest post went into some pretty serious subjects, such as climate change, mental illness, and white privilege. To encourage more meaningful conversations, I’ve opened this thread for anyone who wishes to tell their own stories about these things. You can talk about how climate change and other global crises have affected your mental and emotional health, vent your anger or despair, or even offer words of hope to remind us all of “the power of possibility.” However you choose to contribute, please be respectful of others and do not devalue anyone’s personal experiences.
I just wanted to tell you what a well thought out piece this is. It's hard to talk about, and to face, on many levels. But you've touched on most of them. From my perspective, I worry so much about the animals. Do what we can, when we can, as we're able.
Can I speak to your Star Trek tangent? Although I didn’t watch it when it was first on, Deep Space Nine was the first Star Trek series that really interested me. Since the setting of most episodes is on the DS9 space station, we become invested in the fates of Bajor, the planet DS9 orbits, and Cardassia, the recent occupier of Bajor. A condition of Cardassian withdrawal was that the Federation would take over operation of DS9. This series has a very different premise and feel compared to the starship-oriented adventure/exploration series. Star Trek’s captains generally exemplify “the power of possibility” and DS9’s Captain Benjamin Sisko is no exception.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for saying this. Also, amen to all of that!🙏🌿
